Confirmations
Captain pauses and asks you before three actions: removing a section, deleting an entry and publishing the profile. Nothing happens until you answer on the card in the chat.
What needs your approval
Section titled “What needs your approval”| Action | The card says | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Remove a section | Remove the section “…” and everything in it. | The section and every entry in it will be removed from your draft. |
| Delete an entry | Delete one entry from “…”. | This entry will be removed from your draft. |
| Publish | Publish the profile, so everything changed so far goes public. | Your public page will show the profile as it is now. |
For a removal or a deletion, the card also lists what would go, so you can check it is the right section or entry.
Every other change, such as adding or rewriting an entry, runs without a card. Those changes go to your draft and are not public until the profile is published.
Answer a confirmation
Section titled “Answer a confirmation”- Read the card and, for a removal or deletion, the content listed on it.
- Select Approve to let Captain go ahead. On a publish card the button is Publish.
- Select Cancel to say no.
The card then shows Approved or Cancelled, and Captain carries on with its reply.
Each action gets its own card. If you ask Captain to delete three entries, you answer three cards.
If you say no
Section titled “If you say no”Captain does not run that action and does not try it again unless you ask again. The rest of your request still runs. For example, if you asked Captain to rewrite your summary and then publish, and you cancel the publish, the rewritten summary stays in your draft.
If you do nothing
Section titled “If you do nothing”Captain waits five minutes for your answer. After that, it treats the card as a no and finishes its reply without running the action.
Closing the panel or the page does not answer the card. Captain keeps waiting, so you can come back within the five minutes and answer it.
Selecting Stop while a card is waiting ends the reply. The action on the card is not run.
After you approve
Section titled “After you approve”- A removed section or deleted entry is gone from your draft. Your public page still shows it until the profile is published.
- A publish takes effect at once: your public page shows the profile as it is now, including earlier draft changes made by you or by Captain.
If publishing is refused after you approve, a section is incomplete. Captain lists what to complete. See What Captain can change.
